01Who we are

251 Marketing Ltd, trading as twofiveone, builds websites, provides SEO and AI search services, and creates AI tools for UK businesses. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us about anything in it at hello@251marketing.com.

02What we collect

We only collect what you give us or what's needed to run the site:

• Contact details — your name, email address, website address and anything you write in a message when you enquire through the site or email us.
• Client project information — if you become a client, the business information needed to do the work: site content, account access you grant us, and analytics data for your own site.
• Usage data — anonymised analytics about how this website is used: pages visited, rough location, device type. Nothing that identifies you personally.

03How we use it

We use your information to:

• Reply to your enquiry and discuss your project
• Deliver the services you've engaged us for, and invoice for them
• Improve this website using anonymised analytics
• Meet legal obligations, such as keeping accounting records

We don't sell your data, and we don't add you to a marketing list because you asked us a question.

04Our lawful basis

Under UK GDPR, we rely on legitimate interests to respond to enquiries, contract to deliver work you've engaged us for, legal obligation for records we're required to keep, and consent for anything optional, like analytics cookies, which you can refuse or withdraw at any time.

05Who we share it with

Only the service providers needed to run the business, under their own data processing terms:

• Email and document providers, to communicate with you
• Hosting and analytics providers, to run this site and client sites
• Accounting software and, where legally required, HMRC

Where a provider stores data outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards (such as UK-approved standard contractual clauses) are in place.

06Cookies & analytics

This site uses a minimal set of cookies: those needed for the site to function, and, with your consent, analytics cookies that help us understand which pages are useful. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time without breaking anything important.

07How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't become projects are deleted within 12 months. Client records are kept for the life of the project plus 6 years, in line with UK accounting requirements. Anonymised analytics are kept for up to 26 months.

08Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

• Show you the personal data we hold about you
• Correct it, delete it, or restrict how we use it
• Object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Provide your data to you or another provider in a portable format

Email hello@251marketing.com and we'll respond within one month. If you're not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

09Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged clearly rather than buried.
