A small studio that stays small.
twofiveone builds fast websites for trades and independent businesses, then makes sure Google and AI search actually recommend them. Founded in Dorset in 2019, working across the UK.
On the south coast, close enough to meet, set up to work anywhere in the UK.
You talk to the person doing the work. No account managers, no handovers.
Every site is built to be found in Google, and in the AI tools people now ask instead.
Most sites look fine and do nothing.
The gap between a website that exists and a website that earns.
Plenty of small businesses have a website they quietly don't rely on. It looked good the week it launched. It loads slowly on a phone, nobody has touched it in three years, and it turns up on page four for the one search that would actually bring work in. It isn't broken exactly. It just doesn't do anything.
That's usually not a design problem. It's what happens when a site gets built as a brochure and then left alone, while the way people search carries on changing underneath it.
And it has changed. Someone looking for a heating engineer in Poole might still type it into Google, or they might ask ChatGPT and take the three names it gives them. If those tools can't find you, can't verify you, or can't work out what you do, they recommend someone else. That's a different job to ranking, and most sites have had no work done on it at all.
So we do both, as one piece of work. Build the site properly: fast, clear, easy to update. Then make it legible to everything that decides who gets recommended, whether that's a search engine or an assistant.
Fewer people, fewer layers.
What being small actually changes about the work.
Direct
You deal with whoever is building the thing. Questions get answered by the person who knows the answer, usually the same day.
Honest
If SEO won't pay back for your business, we'll say so before you spend anything. A quote and a timeline before work starts, not after.
Yours
Nothing is locked in. We'll usually look after the domain and hosting so you don't have to think about it. If you ever want it all in your own name, we'll move it, no argument.

FounderI started twofiveone in 2019 because I kept meeting good local businesses being let down by websites that looked the part and did nothing for them. That still irritates me, and it's still the job.
Web design is the bit I genuinely love. Taking something a business is quietly brilliant at and making it obvious inside ten seconds on a phone screen is a proper puzzle, and it never gets old. The search side comes from years of doing it in practice, including in-house SEO at Currys and ecommerce work for independent brands.
I'm also faintly obsessed with what AI is doing to all of this. Not the hype, the practical part: people are starting to ask an assistant instead of searching, and the businesses that get recommended are the ones a machine can actually verify. Working out what that means for a business in Poole or Bournemouth is the most interesting problem I've had in years.
Small on purpose. When you get in touch, you get me.
Businesses we get found.

The business, on the record.
Everything verifiable in one place, for anyone, or anything, checking.
